90 DAYS OF TURBO FIRE

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

Here they are, my 90 DAY TURBO FIRE RESULTS! I did it and I am BEYOND happy with my results.

Was it easy? NO. I knew going into this that the hardest part was going to be sticking to the program for 90 days. Sure, I have worked out regularly for years but it used to go something like this: Go to the gym and eat clean for a couple of weeks, get bored, get lazy, quit for a month (or two), gain weight and feel disgusting, go back to the gym for a few weeks… you get the point.

When I started this challenge I was working a (more than 40 hour a week) full time job, while taking care of a VERY energetic child with my fiancé traveling for work MOST of the time. Even for the busiest person IT CAN BE DONE, but you have to make it a PRIORITY.

I am proud to report that I did not miss ONE day of my program. In fact, I actually looked forward to working out every day. No joke. It became fun. Scheduled rest days didn’t even feel right after a while. I can now proudly call it a HABIT.

Here’s the deal on food. 80% of the time, I eat CLEAN. This means nothing processed, no added sugar, and tons of fruits and veggies. Did I cheat once in a while? YES. In fact, I cheated AT LEAST once a week. I’m human guys, I cannot have JUST ONE cheat meal a week. I fall prey to french fries more often than I would like to admit. But I don’t gorge myself. I do however allow myself enough of whatever food I am cheating with to satisfy my craving and not make me feel disgusting. One thing I have learned is that if you deny yourself something it makes you want it even more. I have also learned that I don’t like the way I feel when I overindulge on JUNK.

My results may not be as drastic as some of the other Beachbody success stories I you may have seen. I am by no means perfect and I still have some major fitness goals I want to accomplish. But, this challenge group has pushed me one step closer to getting where I want to be. I can’t wait to try MORE programs and see MORE results!

In 90 days, I have LOST 10 lbs, and 10 inches total. I have GAINED self-confidence (enough to post these pictures!), energy to keep up with my toddler, the knowledge that I can do anything I set my mind to and most importantly the ability to help more people do the same.

I became a coach because I am so excited about the way I FEEL. I want the same for YOU and I can help you get there! It’s a lot easier than you think. Are you ready?

WANT TO KNOW WHY I COACH?

Thursday, May 16, 2013

It’s simple really. Becoming a Beachbody coach has changed my life in more ways than one.

I am able to help people in a way I have always wanted to but never knew how. The daily messages I receive from my challengers thanking me for getting them involved are pretty amazing.

Healthy and fit is becoming a family affair. You know what they say about families who work out together… they STAY together!

I am able to work on my OWN fitness goals daily through Beachbodys AMAZING products. The library of DVD’s I am building means I will NEVER get bored with my workouts.

I have the opportunity to turn my coaching business into something that is going to allow me to WORK FROM HOME and be PRESENT in my daughters life.

Coaching has given me a confidence I have lacked almost my entire life. I’m not sure this part is something that can be explained, but it is definitely something I want more people to experience themselves.

I am working towards accomplishing some pretty amazing goals. Goals I never thought would be possible. Goals that ARE possible and will be my reality SOON.

The best part? There is room on our team for YOU. What are YOUR goals and dreams? You can accomplish anything you set your mind to. This is my PROMISE and I would love to show you how.

RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Gluten Free, Grain Free "Granola"

We have been eating this all week with Greek yogurt and honey. Sooo good! All ingredients are available at Trader Joes.

Ingredients

-2 cups mixed almonds, hazelnuts, macadamia and brazil nuts
-1 cup dried plums or dried cherries, cranberries or apricots
-1/2 cup pepitas (pumpkin seeds, activated if possible)
-1/2 cup hazelnut or almond meal
-1 cup desiccated coconut, unsweetened
-1/2 cup coconut flakes (if you have them)
-1-2 tbsps chia seeds
-1/2 cup melted coconut oil
-5-6 tbsp honey, rice malt syrup, maple syrup or a little less coconut syrup (it’s usually more concentrated)
-1 tsp vanilla extract

You will need a food processor or some other way to break the nuts into smaller crumbs

Instructions
Preheat oven to 165C (330F).
Add whole nuts and dried fruit to a food processor. Process the mixture into medium size crumbs, some of it will turn into finer flour/meal like consistency but that’s what we want – a variety of shapes and sizes.

Mix processed nuts and all other ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Use a wooden spoon or a spatula to break down the clumps, which will form when coconut oil and honey come into contact with dry ingredients. It’s ok if some of them remain unbroken.

Line a deepish roasting tray with baking paper, making sure the sides are covered. Spoon the mix into a tray and flatten with a spatula.

Bake for 18-20 minutes in total or until golden brown on top. Make sure to mix through at a 10 minute point to expose more of the granola to the heat.

Remove and let it cool completely. You can even refrigerate it for 10 minutes, this solidifies coconut oil and honey in it.

Break into crumbs and pieces using your hands or a spoon. Transfer to an air-tight container. I transfer mine still in the baking paper and keep it, unrefridgerated, in a large plastic container for up to a week.

I'm about to get real with you guys.

I know you all have seen me posting about Beachbody and Shakeology. Some of you may think "oh she's just trying to make money" or "what a joke", but the truth is I'm trying to change lives.

A few months ago I was in a really dark place. I was eating crap and not getting any exercise. I needed to make a change and fast. Not taking care of myself was affecting more then just the way my clothes fit and the number on the scale. I was miserable and it was affecting all of my relationships and my mental health.

My friend Amanda had been posting a lot about Beachbody and challenge groups and her own success with the programs. So I figured, what do I have to lose? I have to admit, when I started the challenge I had my doubts. It seemed kind of cheesy and I wasn't sure if I had the time to actually keep up with it. The other issue was money. I didn't think I could afford it. Again, I knew it was now or never and I figured if I was going to drop money on anything then surely my health was worth it. Right? So I took the plunge, picked a program, a flavor of Shakeology and crossed my fingers. I had no idea what was in store for me.

Now let's back it up for a minute. Some of you might look at me and say "Stacey, you are a small person and you always have been. Getting in shape wasn't hard for you." Ok, it's true that I'm small. I'm 5'2". What a lot of you don't know is that there was a point in my life when I weighed 30 lbs more then I do now. At 5'2" that's not cute, or healthy or easy to work off. It's been quite a while since I weighed that much but it hasn't been easy, or fun. Keeping myself in shape has always been a struggle for me. My weight has fluctuated A LOT throughout the years. I will have months where I'm great about it and will go to they gym 6 days a week. And then I'll get bored or busy or tired... and quit. That's when i start being unhealthy about the way I eat to try and lose the extra lbs. I remember taking diet pills in middle school. NOT OK. Name a cleanse, I've probably tried it. Not only are most cleanses unhealthy, they are only temporary fixes.

Beachbody has changed ALL of that for me. I chose "TurboFire" as my program of choice with little info on what it really was. It turns out that what it is, is the best thing that has ever happened to my body. TurboFire may not be right for everyone but the great part is that Beachbody has TONS of other programs to chose from. There is something for everyone, for every lifestyle and lack of free time, for everyone with aches and pains and injuries, for every body type, level of agility, age and weight issue, for everyone with a small space to workout in, for anyone with young children and no babysitter and even for people who think they can't afford it! These are the excuses I used to use: I work long hours, have a very young child and my fiancĂ© travels a lot for work. Clearly I didn't have time to workout with all of these other things going on, right? WRONG.

I have been a part of a challenge group for the past 44 days. Most nights I don't work out until 9 or 10 pm but I'm doing it and most of my workouts are less then 30 minutes long! I haven't missed a single day since I started. Why? Because I made a commitment to MYSELF from the first day. The first couple of weeks were really hard. But every day after that got easier and easier and pretty soon it became a habit. It became fun. It became something I LOOK FORWARD TOO! What?! Me? Look forward to working out? It used to be a chore. Well chore no more, my life has been changed!

What started as an effort to get my butt back in shape has turned into me finding something I am passionate about. I have seen so many lives changed for the better in amazing ways through Beachbody and Shakeology I became a coach so that I could help my family and friends change their lives too. As cheesy as that is, it's the absolute truth. I have only been a coach for a few weeks but I have this feeling deep down in my heart that this is what I'm meant to do. I'm not in this for money. I want to inspire and I want to help every single one of you accomplish whatever goal you have. Are you with me?

Let's do this!!!
